Meikan Safaris was building (and publicly launching) a boutique photographic safari brand in Kenya positioned around handcrafted, photographer-first itineraries. The challenge was that this kind of high-trust, high-ticket travel business needs credibility fast. Meikan needed a professional, cohesive brand identity that could: Signal premium + trust to international clients booking custom trips and inquiries online. Differentiate from generic safari operators by clearly communicating “boutique,” “photographic,” and “expert-led” positioning. Translate consistently across platforms (website, inquiry flow, social/marketing, and client-facing documents), so the business looked established and reliable from first impression to booking.
The Client
Meikan Safaris is a Kenya-based boutique safari operator that specializes in handcrafted photographic safaris designing custom itineraries based on a client’s wish list rather than selling fixed packages. Their model is built around a local, boots-on-the-ground team, custom safari vehicles, and experienced photographic guides, with a focus on delivering the best photography experience (they own vehicles, not camps)
Hero/banner brand imagery (logo over safari photography for web/social)

Our Approach
Discovery & direction: We started by aligning on the business background, goals, and what “success” would look like for the project. This phase was completed in under 2 days.
Brand identity development: We led the process through moodboard creation, concept exploration, and iterative refinement. The client was highly involved throughout, and this stage took approximately 20–25 days.
Visual identity system: We developed the supporting identity system, including the brand color palette and typography selections. This took about one week.
Brand application, presentation & handover: Within 2 days, we finalized the presentation, applied the identity, delivered the full set of brand files, and completed sign-off.
